Vetch & Clover
Ethical & Sustainable
Vetch & Clover strives to be a positive change and a step in the right direction for the fashion industry. Providing sustainable and ethically made designs that focuses on choice, size inclusivity and customisation.
With a focus on producing zero waste through a made-to-order process and using specially selected upcycled fabrics, deadstock fabrics and Oeko-Tex Certified Materials, Vetch & Clover works hard to produce what is natural and can be returned to the earth at the end of its life.
Working with Oeko-Tex materials means that the fabrics don’t contain any chemicals or harmful substances.
Our Packaging
Our packaging is completely biodegradable! Using cardboard to hold your item and tissue paper to wrap it, and that’s all protected in a biodegradable bag made from sugar cane.
Zero Waste
Vetch & Clover are proud to be a zero waste brand, any scraps that are too small to be made into accessories or given to fellow creative businesses are used as stuffing for our zero waste bum rolls! These are great for enhancing the 18th Century woman’s silhouette and are available on our website.
Through our made-to-order process we are able to reduce our waste even further, producing on demand is a great way to keep any excess items from being added to landfill.
Plastics
We recycle unwanted polycottons!
We mainly focus on using Cottons and Linen as well as Wool for the cooler months.
We avoid the use of plastics unless we are creating with an upcycled fabric which we often source from curtains and vintage bed sheets etc (this is stated in the material descriptions)
The elastic we use is no longer plastic based!
It's made from Organic Cotton and Natural Rubber so it's 100% biodegradable.
Aurora Fay,
the owner and founder of Vetch & Clover has a great respect and relationship with nature and wants to leave a positive step towards the future of our beautiful planet. She wants to ensure that what we produce won’t be adding to the already growing pile of fashion waste.
Therefore we will be setting up a Pre-Loved service very soon! We want to keep our designs out of the landfill and instead in the hands of someone who will love them OR we’ll remake them into something else!
Manufacturing
Process
The making process of Vetch & Clover garments.
All of our garments are made in the UK: Designed and made by Aurora and is lovingly packaged and shipped in our biodegradable packaging.
We like to produce in batches, as our orders come in we separate them into fortnightly batches. This means our postage is reduced, therefore reducing our carbon footprint in our production process.
